Plot

Drama Korea Fashion King menceritakan tentang kehidupan seorang calon desainer muda yang bernama Kang Young-gul (Yoo Ah In). Young-gul memulai bisnis fashionnya di Pasar Dongdaemun. 

Dengan kehidupannya seperti saat ini, Young-gul tidak pernah bermimpi untuk memiliki masa depan yang cerah. Namun semuanya itu sirna ketika ia bertemu dengan Lee Ga-young (Shin Se-kyung), seorang gadis yang kehilangan kedua orang tuanya dalam kecelakaan di usia muda.

Ga-young bermimpi untuk menjadi seorang desainer ternama. Ia tumbuh menjadi seorang wanita cerdas yang memiliki bakat merancang busana. Ia bahkan mendapatkan beasiswa di New York Fashion School yang membuat Ga-young harus tinggal di Amerika. 

Sementara itu, Jung Jae-hyuk (Lee Je-hoon) adalah anak seorang pengusaha sukses di sebuah perusahaan besar di Korea. Perusahaan itu bergiat dalam bidang konstruksi dan distribusi fashion. Jae-hyuk bersama mantan pacarnya, Choi An-na (Yuri) bekerja sama di perusahaan fashion terkenal.

Seiring berjalanya waktu, perlahan tapi pasti Jung Jae-hyuk kehilangan rasa cintanya terhadap Choi An-na dan mulai menyukai Ga-Young. Tetapi ternyata Ga Young telah jatuh cinta kepada Young-gul yang secara diam-diam juga menyukai Ga Young.

Notes

1. Actress Han Chae-Young was scheduled to make her comeback in Korean dramas with this series, but because of delays she chose to work on the South Korean-New Zealand film Soul Mates instead.
2. On December 24, 2011 first screenplay reading took place at SBS Ilsan Production Studios in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
3. Filming for "Fashion King" began January, 2012.
4. Filming for "Fashion King" will shoot on location in New York City, New Yotk & Las Vegas, Nevada from February 11, 2012 through February 23, 2012. Main performers Yoo Ah-In, Shin Se-Kyung, Lee Je-Hoon & Kwon Yuri will all take part in those shootings. Filming in New York City will take place during the city's semi-annual "Fashion Week" event.
5. "Fashion King" takes over the SBS Monday & Tuesday 21:55 time slot previously occupied by "History of the Salaryman" and will be replaced by "The Chaser" on May 28, 2012.
6. Seohyun from "Girls' Generation" sings track "I'll Be Waiting" (Gidarilgeyo) for the "Fashion King" OST. The track is released on April 16 and the 3rd single for the drama series.
